About Dr. Raul Gomes Nogueira, FAHA, FSVIN, MD
Dr. Raul G. Nogueira has 18 years of experience in the field of Neurology and he earned his MD from Faculdade de Medicina da Universidade Federal do Ceará. He completed a residency in Neurology, a fellowship in Neurocritical Care and Stroke, and another fellowship in Endovascular Neurosurgery and Interventional Neuroradiology, all at Massachusetts General Hospital. Today, this expert is board certified in Neurology through the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. Additionally, he is a Registered Physician in Neurovascular Interpretation through the American Society of Neuroimaging. Formerly, this expert served as a Professor of Neurology, Neurosurgery, and Radiology at the Emory University School of Medicine. He was also the Director of the Neuroendovascular Service and the Inaugural Director of the Neurocritical Care Service at Grady Memorial Hospital. Since February 2022, he has served as a Professor of Neurosurgery and Neurology and as the Inaugural Endowed Professor and Chief of the Division of Cerebrovascular Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. He is also the Director of the UPMC Stroke Institute and a Physician with the University of Pittsburgh Physicians.
