About Dr. Peter Yoo, MD
This expert has over a decade of experience in surgery, specializing in transplantation. He earned his BA in music from Dartmouth College, before completing his MD at the Stony Brook School of Medicine. He completed both his internship and surgical residency at Yale University, before completing his fellowship in abdominal organ transplantation at the University of Pennsylvania. He has also completed a fellowship in medical education at Yale School of Medicine. He is board-certified in surgery, and he is affiliated with several professional organizations, including the American Society of Transplant Surgeons, the American Liver Foundation, and the Americas Hepato Pancreato Biliary Association. He has received a number of grants for his research and serves as a reviewer for over a dozen peer-reviewed journals. Additionally, he has published over 65 peer-reviewed papers and has presented numerous times on topics in his field. Formerly, he served as an assistant professor of surgery, as well as the associate director of surgical residency at Yale University. Currently, he serves as an associate professor of surgery, the director of a paired kidney exchange program, and the surgical director of the pediatric kidney transplant program at an Ivy League medical school, as well as the director of the surgical residency program at their affiliated hospital.
