About Dr. Christopher Mark Blais, MD, MPH

Dr. Christopher M. Blais has over 23 years of experience in the field of Internal Medicine. He earned his BA in Chemistry and Biology Sciences from the University of New Orleans, his MD from the Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans, and his MPH in Epidemiology from the Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine. After completing an internship and residency in Internal Medicine at the Charity Hospital, he went on to complete a fellowship in Infectious Diseases at the Louisiana State University Medical Center and a second fellowship in Physician Ethics and Professionalism at the American Medical Association and the Medical College of Wisconsin. Today, this expert is board-certified in Internal Medicine, Infectious Disease, and Hospice and Palliative Medicine. Formerly, he served as the Medical Director of the HIV Delgado Early Intervention Clinic and the Delta AIDS Education Training Center for LSU Health. He most recently served as the Medical Director of the Antimicrobial Stewardship Program, as Chief of the Section of Palliative Medicine within the Department of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine, and as Chair of the Department of Palliative Medicine at the Ochsner Medical Center. He currently serves as Chairman of the Department of Infectious Diseases at the Ochsner Medical Center, where he also serves as an Attending Physician. He also serves as the System Medical Director of the Antimicrobial Stewardship at the Ochsner Medical Center.
