This case involves an accident between a car and a larger commercial vehicle. The plaintiff, whose vehicle was traveling in a lane of one highway, encountered a tractor-trailer that was driving in a lane of another highway and was merging into a third roadway with the plaintiff. The tractor-trailer overcompensated on the embankment and veered into the plaintiff’s lane as they were merging and clipped the plaintiff’s vehicle on the driver’s side. This caused the vehicle to slide into a cement barrier on the plaintiff’s right. All survived the accident, but the plaintiff suffered traumatic injuries.

As an accident reconstructionist, when looking at both the speed and the embankment, they probably played factors in the accident. As a biomechanical engineer I understand dynamics and kinematics and can reconstruct motions during an accident. I have performed analyses to determine damage consistency between vehicles, the order of impacts in vehicle collisions, injury causation, as well as other accident reconstruction-related issues. As such, I feel like I could comment on the accident.
