He then went on to complete an Internship at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital, as well as two Residencies in General and Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery from Wayne State University. He is active in his field as a member of several professional organizations, such as the American College of Cardiology and the , Society of Thoracic Surgeons.
