This highly-qualified expert has extensive experience in architecture and the functionality of built environments, with his work involving public spaces, premises liability, design problem, and architectural copyright for a wide range of building and property types. He received his BS in communications from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign before earning his MBA from the University of Pennsylvania, an MS in architecture from University College London, and his DTech in built environment from Ulster University in Northern Ireland. He is active in his field as a member of several associations, including the American Real Estate Society, the Cliff Dwellers, and the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors. This expert is also involved in the field as an author of a multitude of peer-reviewed articles, books and book chapters, and professional criticisms and reviews. He has also presented at various conferences on the local, national, and international levels throughout his career. He has formerly served as a planner for the Springfield and Sangamon County, Illinois Planning Commission, a designer for Skidmore Ownings & Merrill, the acting project architect for Douglas Schroeder Associates, and the managing director of Space Syntax. He also has an abundance of academic experience, having previously served as an associate professor of architecture at Arizona State University, the associate dean and an associate professor of architecture and planning at the University of Colorado Denver, and the head of real estate management and development at Eindhoven University of Technology in the Netherlands.
