This case involves a group of plaintiffs who were exposed to injurious levels of asbestos in a factory setting. Many of these workers developed lung complications, including mesothelioma and lung cancer. It was alleged that the facility in question was not compliant with industry standards for industrial hygiene, thus causing injuries to the plaintiffs. I have 17+ years of experience in occupational safety and health as a certified industrial hygienist and certified safety professional. I hold an M.P.H. in environmental and occupational health, and I have taken additional asbestos-related courses in building inspection, management planning, and contractor supervision. I also have served as an expert witness for an asbestos case that involved a fire in an apartment complex. I am also an adjunct faculty member at a public university, where I teach classes in environmental and occupational health. I enforced the Division of Occupational Safety and Health’s asbestos regulations for my state for 7+ years. For 8+ years, I evaluated and provided oversight for various asbestos abatement projects for the U.S. Navy. During my employment with the Navy, I also oversaw and asbestos and fiber identification and counting lab. I am available to review the facts of the case as well as to determine potential exposure. I can also discuss specific abatement techniques. During my tenure with the Division of Occupational Safety and Health, I represented the state before the appeals board against employers who violated occupational safety and health regulations, including those involving asbestos.

I am a certified industrial hygienist, a certified asbestos consultant, a certified safety professional, and an associate in risk management. I have experience in the manufacturing, construction, and public service sectors. During my 38+ years of professional safety and health experience, I have dealt with numerous asbestos abatement issues and remediation projects. In addition, I am also a registered environmental property assessor with the national registry of environmental professionals. I was employed as the safety and industrial hygiene manager by an engineering, procurement, construction, and project management company in the department of energy. While there, I performed numerous asbestos surveys and set up a certified asbestos counting laboratory. I currently serve as an occupational safety and environmental compliance manager where I am responsible for the planning, development, and implementation of county-wide loss prevention and control programs, workers’ compensation programs, OSHA compliance programs, and EPA environmental compliance programs (including asbestos) for one of the largest counties in the United States. I have acted as an expert witness in an railroad FELS asbestos exposure case that resulted in the death of the plaintiff due to lung cancer.
